Wedding Photography at Crathorne Hall

Crathorne Hall is one of those stately homes that looks far older than it actually is. The first owner James Lionel Dugdale (1862 - 1941) laid the foundation stone of Crathorne Hall in December 1903, with building work being completed three years later. It was the largest country house built during the reign of Edward VII and was constructed from stone quarried from nearby Whitby. The Hall remained the central focus of a large estate until it was sold to become a hotel in 1977, and is now remaining one of the most picturesque and luxurious establishments in the north of England. Crathorne Hall Hotel is licensed to conduct civil ceremonies in North Yorkshire, in The Edwardian Room which is ideal for up to 90 guests.

Crathorne Hall certainly does provide an elegant background for wedding photography with its panelled rooms and wonderful grounds. As a wedding photographer there is plenty of scope to create stunning photographs with options for both sunny and rainy days. For more info on Crathorne Hall why not visit their website. It's always nice to meet a bride and groom before the wedding day to have a chat about their plans and just get to know them a little. For a no obligation wedding chat just give me a call or an email and we'll arrange a meet up at a time that is convenient for you.

The interior of Crathorne Hall features some lovely touches, perfect for distinct and dramatic wedding photography. Wooden panelling and marble fireplaces are common throughout and the fantastic barrelled ceiling in the rear corridor is very special. And when the sun comes out, the guests can spill out on to the lovely seated area at the top of the lawn infront of the house, providing a beautiful setting for group shots.

There are plenty of nooks and crannies around the grounds which give acres of scope for interesting and unique pictures. It's a photographer's playground and I love shooting weddings here......who wouldn't!
